Spanish 1A - Beginning Spanish

Course Description: Provides a basic introduction to alphabet, numbers, days of the week, months, seasons, telling time. Vocabulary includes colors, a variety of food and beverage items, definite and indefinite articles, and other essential grammar subjects.

Spanish 1B - Beginning Spanish

Course Description: Continues to expand vocabulary. Learn family, furniture, clothing. Study collective and proper nouns, descriptive and possessive adjectives, subject pronouns, the verbs Ser and Tener, and idiomatic usages. Greetings, direct objects, and AR, ER, and IR verbs are introduced.

Spanish 2A - Beginning Spanish

Course Description: Vocabulary includes physical elements of the sky, the world, weather, cities, location. Begin writing paragraphs and conjugating AR, ER, IR verbs. The uses of Ser and Estar are studied. Also, the present progressive, impersonal verbs, and uses of Hacer are examined.

Spanish 2B - Beginning Spanish

Course Description: Continue forming sentences, paragraphs, questions. The verb Ir + a, Querer, Tener and their idioms are studied. Negative and interrogative words and sentences included. Discussion of cultural readings. Learn the preterit tense for AR, ER, IR verbs. Also, preterit tense for Estar, Querer, Tener.

Spanish 3B – Intermediate Spanish

Course Description: Study stem-changing verbs, as well as irregular verbs in the preterit and imperfect. Learn how to use the progressive and perfect tenses. Practice oral skills in classroom dialogues; enjoy readings that increase vocabulary and encourage deeper comprehension.

Conversational Spanish - Ongoing Group

Course Description: This class is dedicated in developing Spanish fluency in a supportive environment.  As an Ongoing Group, the class progresses at its own rate with the goal of an advanced level; participants can join the class at any time if their Spanish language skills match the group already in session.  An assessment of skill level will be determined prior to joining the class by the instructor. Advanced Spanish Course - Reading and Advanced Grammar

Course Description: In this class students will read and discuss Spanish short stories and novels which will enable a deeper understanding of the more intricate Spanish grammatical constructions. Class will be conducted in Spanish, and conversation will be encouraged.

Spanish for Educational Settings

For teachers, administrators, and school staff who wish to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and adults. Learn simple Spanish phrases in order to obtain essential information, give directions, identify problems. Use polite terms to increase comfort levels and encourage interactions. Explain the lunch program, school bus details, attendance and behavior issues, and more. This course provides basic words and phrases appropriate in a school setting.

Course Description: Spanish for Healthcare Professionals is a specialized and intensive Spanish language course designed to enhance effective communication between patients and their healthcare providers. Emphasis is on basic, practical language needed to communicate with Spanish speaking patients and their families at the hospital or doctor's office, on the telephone, or at the patient's home.

Spanish for Social Services

Course Description: For Social Services professionals who interact with Spanish-speaking clients, this class enables communication, saves time in a crisis, and improves efficiency. Learn the basic questions and understand the answers that are vital in emergencies, screenings, and routine interviews. Determine living expenses, financial problems, qualifying factors, family relationships. Obtain identification, income information, and legal status. Social Workers and Eligibility Workers will learn effective phrases, vocabulary, and questions to use for a more productive outcome.

Special Topic Series: Spanish Reflexive Verbs and Pronouns

Improve your Spanish sentences in this two-hour workshop that focuses specifically on reflexive verbs and the pronouns that are used with them. Learn when to use these verbs, how to conjugate them, and the correct placement of the reflexive pronouns. After understanding the rules, you will have lots of practice and opportunities to resolve any questions.
