For students who wish to develop a strong base of Italian language skills. Essential basic vocabulary and grammar is introduced. Learn conversational skills such as introductions and polite greetings and interactions. Vocabulary describes family, sports, places in a city or town. Possessive adjectives are introduced. No prior Italian language experience is required.

A continuation of Italian 1A, this course is also appropriate for new students with some prior Italian language experience. Focus is on conversation, both speaking and listening, with emphasis on speech patterns, pronunciation, and comprehension. Grammar includes usage of past tenses. New vocabulary relates to food items, meals, and shopping.
