Spanish 1A - Beginning Spanish Course Description: Provides a basic introduction to alphabet, numbers, days of the week, months, seasons, telling time. Vocabulary includes colors, a variety of food and beverage items, definite and indefinite articles, and other essential grammar subjects.

Spanish 1B - Beginning Spanish Course Description: Continues to expand vocabulary. Learn family, furniture, clothing. Study collective and proper nouns, descriptive and possessive adjectives, subject pronouns, the verbs Ser and Tener, and idiomatic usages. Greetings, direct objects, and AR, ER, and IR verbs are introduced.

Spanish 2A - Beginning Spanish Course Description: Vocabulary includes physical elements of the sky, the world, weather, cities, location. Begin writing paragraphs and conjugating AR, ER, IR verbs. The uses of Ser and Estar are studied. Also, the present progressive, impersonal verbs, and uses of Hacer are examined.

Spanish 2B - Beginning Spanish Course Description: Continue forming sentences, paragraphs, questions. The verb Ir + a, Querer, Tener and their idioms are studied. Negative and interrogative words and sentences included. Discussion of cultural readings. Learn the preterit tense for AR, ER, IR verbs. Also, preterit tense for Estar, Querer, Tener.

Spanish 3 - Intermediate Spanish Course Description: Continue forming sentences, paragraphs and questions. The preterit, imperfect and future verb tenses will be studied. Some basic conversation will be encouraged.

In this gently paced course, you will exchange greetings, ask questions, give directions, tell time, read a menu -- and much more! This is an introductory class but it does require basic Spanish through the Intermediate level.

Advanced Spanish Course - Reading and Advanced Grammar --- CLOSED --- Course Description: In this class students will read and discuss Spanish short stories and novels which will enable a deeper understanding of the more intricate Spanish grammatical constructions. Class will be conducted in Spanish, and conversation will be encouraged.

Advanced Spanish Course - Preterit and Imperfect Tenses --- CLOSED --- Course Description: Do you need practice using these two variations of the past tense? This 6 week class will focus on conjugating regular and irregular Spanish verbs in the preterit and imperfect using practice exercises.

Special Topic Series: Direct and Indirect Pronouns Did you study direct and indirect object pronouns in the past but still have questions about when and where to place them in your Spanish sentences? Resolve your confusion in this three hour class presented as part of our Special Topic Series. In a small group setting you will focus on the rules, study examples, and receive plenty of practice using direct and indirect pronouns. Special Topic Series: Por/Para Are you puzzled by the different meanings of por and para? Do you often wonder which preposition to use? You don't have to be confused any longer! Special Topic Series: Spanish Reflexive Verbs and Pronouns Improve your Spanish sentences in this two-hour workshop that focuses specifically on reflexive verbs and the pronouns that are used with them. After understanding the rules, you will have lots of practice and opportunities to resolve any questions.

Special Topic Series: Present Subjunctive in Dependent Clauses Do you wonder about the subjunctive mood and how it functions? Join our Special Topic Series to learn how to form the present of the subjunctive and, also, how this tense is used in dependent clauses.
